3 vehicles crash on Hwy 72 west of Kenedy
Several vehicles were involved in a crash that happened about 2:30 p.m. on State Highway 72 at a location west of Kenedy Friday, Dec. 7.
A helicopter was sent to the scene to airlift at least one injured person who was involved in the wreck that involved two pickups and an 18-wheeler.
Local fire department, police and EMS workers were dispatched to the scene to respond to the emergency.

KENEDY – Local emergency workers were called to the scene of an accident involving an 18-wheeler and two pickup trucks Friday afternoon, Dec. 7.
The accident happened at about 2:45 p.m. On State Highway 72, about 1.5 miles southwest of Kenedy.
According to radio reports, two men were injured in the accident and at least one was trapped inside one of the vehicles, requiring extraction by emergency workers at the scene.
Two helicopters airlifted the injured men from the scene of the accident to University Hospital in San Antonio.
Traffic was blocked in both directions for more than an hour as emergency personnel worked to clear the scene of damaged vehicles. TxDOT personnel was also called to the scene to make repairs associated with the crash.
The Karnes Countywide reached out to state, regional and local DPS offices for details about the accident and how it happened but has not yet been able to contact the trooper who investigated the accident or a DPS spokesperson able to release information about the crash.
