BEEVILLE — The Trojan varsity basketball team had a relatively good night on Tuesday evening, but the visiting Tuloso-Midway Warriors got hot in the third quarter to ease away from the Beeville boys for a 61-53 victory.

The Warriors led 17-11 after one quarter, but the Trojans hit the first seven points of the second period to take an early 18-17 lead over the Warriors. The half ended with the teams knotted at 26-26.

The T-M boys came out of the locker room firing and hitting as they put up 19 points after the intermission. The Trojans came out cold and added just nine points to fall behind 45-35 heading into the final eight minutes

The Trojans rallied and pulled to within seven points a couple of times, but the Warriors hung on for a 61-53 victory.

The Trojans played host to Gregory-Portland on Friday night and will close out their season on Tuesday night with a road contest in Victoria against the district’s other Warriors.
