Attention farmers and ranchers: you should take note of the dates and enrollments available through the USDA-Farm Service Agency (FSA).

For 2013, have you made your annual crop acreage report? Most of the farmers/ranchers in the county have already reported their planted crops, hay fields, and grazing acres. This is just a reminder to make sure this important task is done. Most FSA program benefits begin with a timely and accurate acreage report. Call for an appointment. A late filed acreage report will incur late file fees.

June 7 is the final 2011 SURE program enrollment date. This is a beneficial crop disaster program supplementing the insurance coverage already paid for 2011. Eligibility requirements for the 2011 SURE program include that you had crop insurance or NAP coverage for all crops intended for harvest in all counties of your operation. Contact your local FSA office for more information.

2013 DCP and ACRE Program enrollment is underway. ACRE sign up ends June 3 while DCP sign up continues through August 2. Enrollment of eligible acres is dependent upon the historical contract commodity base acres.
