GOLIAD COUNTY – Five separate grass fires along State Highway 239 burned approximately 100 acres Monday in Goliad County.

Goliad County Volunteer Fire Department Chief Alonzo Morales said the fires were spread over a six-mile stretch along the highway near the intersection of U.S. Highway 59.

The fires did not cause any property damage, according to Morales.
