Celestina Hinojosa, 70, remains in the intensive care unit at Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital as of press time on Tuesday. The other driver, Faisal Hossain, 18, of Sugar Land, did not suffer any life-threatening injuries. A third vehicle driven by John Martin was hit in the parking lot.
“The accident is still under investigation,” said Trooper Carl Currie, who investigated the crash. “Ms. Hinojosa had just gotten on the road in front of the Fast Break. She was hit from behind.”
Hossain, who was driving north in a Toyota Tundra, ran into the back of Hinojosa’s Nissan Infiniti, and a third vehicle was hit in the Dairy Queen parking lot, according to the trooper.
