Longhorns dominate Randolph Ro-Hawks

The Longhorns continued to dominate their big school district by defeating the Randolph RoeHawks 42-13. The Longhorns amassed 358 yards on 44 carries and 14 yards on a pass to total 379 yards for the contest. The Longhorns are the District Champions for 2010.

Scoring for the Longhorns first was Cayleb Holt on an eight yard run followed by a Seth Pipkin pass to Kendal Hensley. Randolph scored once in the quarter.

Second quarter scoring for the Longhorns began with a 34 yard scamper by Bobby Torres. Ty Jimerson added the PAT. Seth Pipkin added his six points on a one yard run and followed that up with a pass to Ashton Pierce good for the conversion. Brady Jones scored on a two yard run and the kick failed. The Longhorns ended the first half with a solid 30-7 lead.

The second half the Longhorns scored twice in the third quarter when Cayleb Holt scored from 19 yards out and Brady Jones scored on a 73 yard run.

Fourth quarter action belonged to the younger Longhorns as they got experience to prepare themselves for the play-off run. Randolph scored a lone touchdown in the final quarter but the kick failed. The final score was 42-13. The Longhorns end their season 9-1.

The Longhorns will be open this Friday and automatically are Bi-District Champs because all first place teams in the Division I, AA bracket are getting an automatic bye the first round.

Seth Pipkin 12/60 and 1 touchdown, Cayleb Holt 12/109 and 2 TD’s, Bobby Torres 6-50 and 1 TD, Brady Jones 6/114 and 2 TD’s, Enrique Nieto 5/25.

Passing was Brady Jones 1-1 for 14 yards with Bobby Torres being the lone receiver for the ‘Horns.

Pipkin passed for two conversions for 2-2 for 6 yards.
