RISD Parent Resource Center graduates first adult class

Refugio ISD Parent Resource Center’s first adult class successfully completed a comprehensive course entitled Creating Income with Your Computer and the Internet: A Course on Entrepreneurship, Internet Marketing, and Web Design.

The graduates are Melanie Perez, Barbara Gonzalez, Adelita Dodge, Lisa Herring, Lenny Anzaldua, Paul Boyer, Christie Mascorro, Cliff Smith; Jerry Anzaldua, Julie Van Ness, Karen Henke and Pinky Gonzales.

The graduates received a certificate of completion, six months of free post-graduation consulting and web project support, and one year of free web hosting. The class was held every Monday for seven weeks totaling 19 hours of instruction and hands-on application.

Bing Howard, the instructor, is a veteran internet marketer and web designer and winner of the 2009 SBA Home-Based Business Champion of the Year Award for Corpus Christi and District. Assisting with the class was Bert Howard, a retired 23-year Naval Aviator.

“One of the goals of the Refugio ISD Parent Resource Center is to provide free classes to teach practical skills and encourage entrepreneurship among adults in the community, thereby contributing to Refugio’s economic growth,” said Lisa Herring, coordinator of the program.
