The Victoria Advocate recently released its All-Area Volleyball Team selections and two Beeville seniors and one Pettus Lady Eagle were named to the honorable mention list for their play this year.

Seniors Hillary Hennig and Erin Tabb were selected to the Advocate’s honorable mention list to the All-Area teams by the Advocate. Hennig never seemed to leave the court this year. As an outside hitter, she took most of the hits for the Lady Trojans and still played defense well enough to play along the back line, coming up with several digs a game to help the Lady Trojans into the playoffs.

Tabb was a force along the net and at serve. She blocked shots and hit kills that left opponents shying away from her. Tabb was always in the service rotation and could be counted on for an ace or two in most contests and always presented the opposing team a tough serve to return.

Lady Eagle Tori Garza was the top server for the Pettus squad. She was also the team’s setter and occasionally hit for a kill at the net when the opportunity presented itself. She rarely left the court in a match.

All three Bee County ladies will be missed by their respective coaches and teams next year.

They had an impact on their teammates with their leadership and on their opponents with their determined play.
