Fireworks banned in city of Refugio

The Refugio Police Department will be patrolling during the New Year's holidays and issuing citations to anyone caught discharging fireworks within the city limits.

Fireworks will be confiscated.

The entire county is currently under a burn ban. Aerial fireworks are also prohibited in the rest of the county. "Officers will have no leniency on people caught with fireworks," said Refugio Police Chief Chris Brock. "The weather conditions have been dry and we want to take a precautions to prevent fires."
