Marcial Guajardo, 70, formally of Three Rivers, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011 at a local hospital following an extended illness.

He was born to Julian and Andrea (Valle) Guajardo on July 24, 1940 in Seguin. He was a construction worker in the industrial field, before he became a minister for the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Rosalinda Garces Guajardo, three children; Josie Guajardo, Terri Foley and Elihijio Guajardo, and brother Frank Salinas.

Survivors include a son, Jimmy (Mitchelle) Guajardo of Beeville; two brothers: Manuel Salinas of San Antonio, Lewis (Viola) Salinas of George West; four sisters, Mary (Carl) Keylick of George West, Odelia (Juan) Salazar of Three Rivers, Amilia (Gilbert) Cortez, Jr. of George West, Orilia (Santana) Paiz of George West. He had nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews, cousins.

Visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 13, from 2-8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Monte Olivo Church in the Karon Community.

Funeral service was held Monday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m., at the Monte Olivo Church in the Karon Community. Burial followed at the Lebanon Cemetery, Cadiz Community, Live Oak County.
