The Refugio eighth grade Bobcats won the district championship this past weekend at the district tournament in Banquete. The seventh grade Bobcats also finished the season strong as the district runner-up.

The eighth grade Bobcats had a season record of 16-1 and finished the North and South zone competition beating Freer 52-19, Odem 40-32, and Banquete 39-27.

The seventh grade Bobcats also had a season record of 16-1, finishing the North and South zone competition over Freer 62-24 and Bishop 47-23, and falling to Odem in a close game 30-37.

The eighth grade Bobcat champion hoopsters are J.R. Castellano, Johnathon Rosas, J.T. Moya, Tyler Castellano, Marcos Sanchez, James Durst, Eli Oliver, Anfernee Friar, Brent Wendell and Ryan Whitehead.

The seventh grade Bobcat hoopsters are Isaiah Perez, Cole VanNess, Omri Oliver, Kobe Green, Trevor Niemann, Christian Mascorro, Darrion Cuellar, Malik Brown and Blake Odom.
