Relatives of military personnel from Bee County who currently are serving their country are being asked to take part in a Salute to Bee County Military Personnel Around the World.

The event is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on March 2 on the north side of the Bee County Courthouse.

Speakers and patriotic music will be featured during the brief event.

A reception for military families is also planned but a time and place for that will be announced later.

Organizers of the event are asking for family members to bring the names of those serving to the Joe Barnhart Bee County Library or Schulz and Wroten Pharmacy and place the names in boxes at those locations. Families also may call 358-2233 and leave the names of loved ones serving in the military on an answering machine at that number. The names will be added to a special prayer list.
