Participants can explore management, collection and interpretation issues during workshop sessions and address questions about how to translate research into interpretive themes, storylines and plans. An interpretive exercise focused on designing interesting house tours is also included in the program. Other topics will feature marketing, working with volunteers, understanding earned income, developing membership programs and caring for buildings and landscapes. The workshop is designed for first-time directors, new and mid-career professionals and dedicated volunteers involved in historic house museums.
