Jesus Villegas Quintero, Sr., age 75, of Karnes City passed away Saturday, May 1 at the Guadalupe Medical Center in Seguin. He was born October 7, 1934 in Helena to Felipe and Jesusa Villegas Quintero. On October 23, 1991 he married Yolanda Mata in Karnes City. He was a dedicated Spurs and Cowboys fan and a member of the St. Cornelius Catholic Church. He was a lifelong resident of Karnes City. Jesus is survived by his wife, Yolanda of the home; daughter, Jessica Segura of Karnes City; sons, Jesus Quintero, Jr. of Corpus Christi; Jerry Quintero of Loredo; Tony Torres of Poth; J. Daniel Torres of San Antonio; and David Quintero of Karnes City; brothers Felipe Quintero, Jr. of Gillett and Noe Quintero of Goliad; sisters, Consuelo Valdez of Corpus Christi and Mary Helen Garcia of Karnes City and 10 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ramiro Quintero and sister, Hope Espinoza. A rosary was recited Tuesday, May 4 at 7:00 PM at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel in Karnes City with a funeral mass being celebrated 12:00 noon Wednesday, May 5 at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Karnes City.
