Teamwork was the word of the day Saturday in the Beaveretts’ 59-21 win over the Nixon Lady Mustangs. More then 10 different Beaverettes scored on the day while their defense preformed just as well, coming up with multiple steals and several rebounds throughout the game. With the win this past Saturday the Beaverettes are off to a nice start with a record of 4-0. Falls City went on to face George West on Tuesday.

The Lady Mustangs clearly had no advantage Saturday, as the Beaverettes outplayed them on their own court. Falls City held Nixon-Smiley to just four points in the first period and only managed to score a whopping eight before the half. Chelsey Stolle finished the game leading her team with 12 points in just three periods of play.

The first period and pretty much the whole game was pure Beaverette dominance. Tiffany Dziuk led in the first quarter with 8 out of the 19 points Falls City put on the scoreboard, followed closely by Camari Crawford with five.

Nixon made too many mistakes on the offensive side of the ball and was unable to find any kind of a rhythm during the game. Their defense could not withstand the ability the Beaverettes had at moving the ball around the court.

The fourth period was the Lady Mustangs’ best show on offense, yet still they only managed eight points against the Beaverettes.

It was clear by the end of the third period, down 10-49, the Mustangs had no chance of a comeback. Both teams played their best to the end but Falls City proved to be the better. Scoring for the Beaverettes were Alysson Bluhm - 4, Kayla Kotara - 5, Hatti Foster - 3, Kaitlyn Jarzombek - 2, Tiffany Dziuk – 8, Camari Crawford – 11, Kelsi Salziger – 5, Maggie Holz – 3, Jillian Balser – 4 and Jacy Gibson – 2.

The Junior Varsity Beaverettes also won their game 46-35. These up-and-coming girls showed a lot of promise as they held on to the lead throughout the entire game.

Scoring for the junior varsity Beaverettes were, Katie Johnson - 2, Quincy Olenick - 2, Kendall Jurgajtis - 14, Emily Wiatrek - 2, Amber Pruski - 2, Kayla Purcell - 12, Teree Jendrusch - 2, and Kristen Jendrusch.
