4-H offers so many projects besides just livestock (pigs, beef, goats, etc.). You can look at projects in Food & Nutrition, Clothing & Textiles, Leadership or anything else you might be interested in.

KARNES COUNTY 4-H BOOSTER SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship application is offered to any 4-H’ers that is graduating Senior in 2011. Your application will be your completed 4-H Recordbook turned in last year or this year.

CONGRADULATIONS!

Our Karnes County 4-H Clubs are so proud of Caleb Dziuk and Caitlynn Smart for winning scholarships at the 4-H State Roundup in College Station.

We also had some winners this past weekend at the District 11 Horse Show in Edna, Texas. Sydney Dockery and Megan Folbre both qualified for the Texas State 4-H Show in Abilene, Texas July 23rd thru July 30th. We are so proud of them!

GIRL SCOUT CAMP

Girls just wanna have fun!!!!   Calling all girls K-12!  Free camp offered to all Karnes County girls!  July 25, 2011 from 9am – 3pm at Kenedy City Hall Auditorium.    Register by July 15 to Annalisa Franco at 800-58-7247 x252 or afranco@girlscouts-swtx.org!  There are volunteer opportunities available.  BRING YOUR OWN SACK LUNCH!

COOKING WITH STYLE CAMP!

Come join youth  ages 9-17 for a day learning new techniques & how to cook with style! Register by July 20 @ the Karnes County Extension Office to reserve your spot!   We will cover the new MyPlate that was launched in June, healthy snack ideas, and host an “Iron Chef” competition that afternoon.  It will be July 27 from 8:30-4pm at Kenedy City Hall auditorium.  Call 830-780-3906 for more information!  Lunch is included with the registration fee!

Karnes County 4-H is sponsoring a “Recycling Project” collecting inkjet cartridges, toner

cartridges and cell phones!
