Seven finalists of the first “Bee ’N Idol” singing contest will perform today (Saturday) during the “Fusion Music Fest.”

The community is invited to come, enjoy the fest and support the finalists who include April Gonzales, Mark Gutierrez, Sydnie Maguire, Alexandria Aleman, Eriana “Masey” Garcia, Damian Toelken and Melanie Sandoval.

The contest will begin at 5 p.m. at the Downtown Depot Pavilion. The contestants advanced after the initial auditions and will perform in front of a panel of three judges, including a celebrity judge, Channel 3’s Domingo Live show host Barbi Leo.

First, second and third place winners will be chosen and awarded trophies. The first place winner also will receive the grand prize, which includes recording time at Meskeet Sound & Recording Studio, a performance at Beeville’s Western Week Celebration and an appearance on Channel 3’s Domingo Live TV show.

The “Bee ’N Idol” contest is founded and organized by Robert Cisneros with the intention of drawing out all vocally talented Bee County residents between the ages of 12-17, who may wish to pursue a career in the music industry. The contest provides a platform to give individuals an opportunity to express their talent and offer them exposure within the community.
