Mary Lee Vickery, 81, died Monday, July 25. She was a retired bookkeeper.

She was born Nov. 22, 1929, in Colorado City, to Dennis William “Dick” and Mary Etta Butcher Dowling.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, J.D. Vickery; and sister, Vivian Pugh.

Survivors include one daughter, Ruth Ann Hackney and husband Gary of Victoria; two sons, Royce Vickery and wife Cathy of Lakeway, and Mark Vickery and wife Sonya of Wimberly; three sisters, Alice Speis of Woodsboro, Judy Harris of Bossier City, La., and Juanita Meissner of Woodsboro; one brother, Dennis Dowling of Baytown; two sisters-in-law, Juanita Hulsey and Flora Kay Vickery, both of Victoria; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, July 20, at 10 a.m. at Faith United Church in Woodsboro with Rev. Betty Tuttle officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Carl Hackney, Clint Hackney, Steven Vickery, Jeremy Speis, Michael Hulsey, and Milton Hulsey.
