Mike Alexieff photo.Melanie Matkin of Three Rivers has been appointed Live Oak County district clerk, replacing Lois Shannon, who retired at the end of September. Matkin, who was appointed Tuesday by the three district judges whose jurisidiction includes Live Oak County, has worked in the district clerk's office since May. Matkin said she plans to run for a full term in the Nov. 2012 election. Shannon, who worked in the office for 25 years and was district clerk for 15, said Matkin would do a good job. As for her retirement, she said, "I miss the people. The judges, attorneys and court staff were very good to me.".

Good for Melaine and good for Live Oak County. Good job Mrs Shannon and all success Ms. Matkin.
