Mr. Andres Valdez Jr., 68, died on Sunday November 6, 2011, in San Antonio, Texas.  He was born on November 13, 1942 in Karnes City, Texas to the late Andres Valdez, Sr. and Brijida Morin Valdez.  Andres was a heavy equipment operator, and also worked in the oilfield. 

Survivors include his wife, Evagelina Lopez Valdez of Karnes City; daughter Olga Casanova and husband Jesse of Amarillo, TX; son, Arthur Valdez and wife Pamela of Amarillo; daughter, Vivian ValdezAmarillo; step-son, Juan Lopez of Karnes City; step-daughter, Felipa Garza and husband Jimmy Lee Karnes City; brothers, Lupe Valdez of Gillett, TX and Robert Valdez of Runge, TX; and fifteen grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Ochoa Valdez; brothers, Pedro Valdez, Sr.,  Margarito Valdez and Simon Valdez; sisters, Otilia Moreno, Francisca  Guerrero, Maria Morin and Antonia Carreon.

The funeral mass was celebrated on Friday November 11, 2011 at 10 a.m. at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Karnes City.  Interment followed in the Helena Latin Cemetery. 

Pallbearers were Jesse Morin, Ray Hernandez Jr., Lorenzo “Tre” Salinas, Daniel Y. Perez, Juan Lopez, and Jimmy Lee Garza.
