A.C. Jones High School was awarded a Texas Educator Excellence Grant in the amount of $165,000. This grant is provided to schools which have good student achievement on the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) or improvement on TAKS.

This round of the grant was awarded for TAKS scores in 2006-2007. The campus develops the incentive plan and then works the plan during school year 2008-2009.

All of the activities in the grant are developed to improve student achievement at the school. The incentives are awarded to teachers and other staff members for TAKS score improvement, good attendance by teachers at school, attendance by teachers and other staff members at school functions outside of the regular school day, as well as other activities.
