The George West Varsity boy’s basketball defeated Cotulla 56-51 last Tuesday in Cotulla.

It was the first district win for the Longhorns. Cotulla jumped out to 13-2 lead early in the first quarter. The Longhorns came to take 26-25 lead at halftime. The Longhorns were leading in scoring in the first half by Colton Tindol with eight points, Travis Walker had six points.

Leading the way on defense for the Longhorns, Shannon Taylor with 10 rebounds, Travis Walker had six rebounds.

In the second half the Longhorns played extremely well defensively and offensively.

In the fourth quarter George West out scored the Cowboys. In the end the Longhorns prevailed 56-51. Scoring totals Colton Tindol 18 points, Oscar Martinez 18 points, Travis Walker eight points, Marcus Miller six points, Michael Blevins two points and Shannon Taylor two points. Great job Longhorns and good luck the rest of way in district.
