The District 12 4-H shooting sports postal league was a huge success last year and we are excited to announce the 2012 event. The postal league is designed to provide additional shooting sports opportunities for 4-H members across south district 12. This event will allow both small bore rifle and archery enthusiasts the opportunity to engage in a new competition across the district. By nature of this event being a ‘postal’ league, it will take place locally with scores mailed/submitted by a specific due date. Participants will register online, shoot the specified match within the specified timeline, and submit scores.

Awards will be provided for both disciplines and presented during the District 12 4-H shooting sports match scheduled for April 28-29 in Benavides. Awards for small bore will include team awards and individual high-point. Awards for archery will include individual awards. Rules for these events will follow Texas 4-H 3-Position Rifle Rules and Texas 4-H Archery Rules as well as the guidelines provided with this correspondence for conducting this postal league event.

Registration for these events will be administered through 4-H Connect (http:///d124-h.tamu.edu) . Select the ‘D12 4-H shooting sports postal league’ event. The registration period will begin Jan. 10 and conclude on Feb. 15. There will be a late registration period between Feb. 15 and March 1 (late fees apply). Only a registered adult can complete the registration online. Detailed registration instructions are included. The shooting period will be between Feb. 15 and April 10. All score/targets must be in the district office by April 10.
