Maria Louisa Gonzales Casarez, 62, went to be with her Lord on March 5, 2012. She was born to Pablo and Maria Medina Gonzales on August 15, 1949, in Alma, Michigan. Maria grew up in Kenedy, TX, and it was there where she married Jose Antonio Casarez on July 5, 1972. They later moved to Beeville and raised their family there.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Pablo and Maria Gonzales; her husband, Jose Antonio Casarez; one daughter, Kimberly J. Casarez, and 5 brothers.

Those left to cherish her memories include two daughters, Monica Simone Carlin, Sonya Jo Pineda and husband Charlie, all of San Antonio; three grandchildren, Ashleigh Marie Pierce, Thomas Carlin IV, and Sophia Josephine Carlin, also of San Antonio; her mother in law, Victoria Casarez of Beeville; best friend, Alice Sanchez of Beeville; 4 sisters and 5 brothers; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Visitation was held from 10am-5pm at Angelus Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. A rosary was recited that same evening at 7pm at St. James Catholic Church.

A funeral mass to celebrate Maria’s life was held on Thursday, March 8, 2012, at 10 am at St. James Catholic Church. Services were concluded at the church.
