Amelia “Mabel” Villarreal, 78, of Beeville, died Thursday, March 8, 2012.

Mrs. Villarreal was born on March 18, 1933, in George West to Estabeliano and Teofila Cano Lopez. She married Ciriaco Villarreal on July 18, 1964, in Beeville. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ciriaco Villarreal Sr.; a daughter, Madelena Villarreal; three brothers, Juan Peralta, Ramon Lopez and Cipriano Lopez; one grandson, Gilbert Lee Flores; and one step-daughter, Oralia V. Camacho.

Survivors include two daughters, Mariann (Peter) Martinez and Margie (Simon) Barrientes, both of Beeville; two sons, Ciriaco (Nere) Villarreal Jr. of Mathis and Martin Villarreal of Beeville; three step-daughters, Dalia Sanchez of Aransas Pass, Natalia (Nick) Camacho and Ellie (Adan) Martinez, both of Beeville; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Visitation was held from 1 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A rosary was recited there at 7 o’clock that evening.

The funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, March 12, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Interment followed at San Pedro Cemetery in the Clareville Community.

Pallbearers were Mikey Sanchez, Jacob Barrientes, Johnny Posada, Jimmy Padron, Ralph James Padron Sr. and Peter Martinez.

Honorary pallbearers were Jason Barrientes, Randi Padron-Griego and Simon J. Barrientes.
