Spring, eagerly anticipated by many of us, is a time of rebirth and renewal.

This year Bee County and area residents are blessed with daily reminders of God’s majesty thanks to the abundance of green pastures and fields of colorful wildflowers, especially after years of drought in which they were absent.

In the last issue of this newspaper, our Experience South Texas spring 2012 section provided calendars of upcoming events and a myriad of suggestions for newcomers and visitors to sample in this vast five-county region, from fishing and festivals to concerts and art exhibits.

Easter Sunday, the most glorious day of the year for believers, is almost here.

In today’s issue, we are pleased to present our He Is Risen special section, offering inspiring messages from some of our area’s pastors and a listing of Holy Week services in many houses of worship.

Whether one is Catholic or Baptist, Lutheran or Pentecostal, a reader (and family) should be able to find something to pique one’s interest in order to return to church and give thanks for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

For many persons, now is a time of transition – whether beginning a new job in the Eagle Ford, graduating from high school or earning a college degree, starting out as newlyweds, giving birth to a new son or daughter, or losing a loved one to cancer.

Whatever one’s circumstance, now is the time to speak with God and tell Him how much He is loved and trusted. He will understand because He has experienced our doubts, temptations, suffering and pain. One thing’s for certain: We always have a friend in Jesus.

God bless all of you during this Holy Week.
