Members of the small congregation regularly appear at soldiers’ funerals to tout their anti-gay agenda by claiming soldiers are dying because God hates America.
Apparently, the warning was unnecessary because the protesters did not show up despite sending out a press release and flier in advance, as well as having a spokeswoman confirm their plans with a Bee-Picayune reporter.
The church has not commented on why its small contingent did not attend Saturday’s funeral in Three Rivers. Multiple attempts to access its website, www.godhatesfags.com, have failed.
Perhaps their no-show was just an act of God.
