The Lady Trojan varsity soccer team was in Corpus Christi last weekend to compete in the CCISD tournament and finished with a 2-1-1 record for their four games.

The Beeville girls also played at Palacios on Tuesday evening and defeated the Lady Sharks 5-0.

“Our passing is developing very well and we are playing tough defense and it showed against tough teams such as Flour Bluff and CC Carroll. Our scoring is getting better and we are working hard on improving possession,” said head coach Robert Partida.

The first round of pool play last Friday had the Lady Trojans meeting the Carroll Lady Tigers. The contest ended in a scoreless tie. In the second round, the Beeville girls defeated Tuloso-Midway 3-0 and in the day’s finale, the Lady Trojans lost a 2-0 match with Harlingen South.

Saturday’s finals in the Silver Bracket had the Lady Trojans play to a 1-1 tie with Flour Bluff, but the Lady Hornets prevailed in penalty kicks that decided the contest.

The consolation round of the Silver division had the Lady Trojans defeating San Benito in penalty kicks after a 1-1 tie at the end of the two 35-minute halves.

Tuesday night’s game at Palacios was all Beeville as the Lady Trojans cruised to a 5-0 win over the Lady Sharks. Beeville got goals from Natalie Elder and Mary Larakers while Calli Barber had three goals on the night.

The Lady Trojans will be in Alice on Tuesday night to challenge the Lady Coyotes. The JV girls were at home last night, playing the San Antonio Hawkins Wolfpack.
