BEEVILLE – The varsity baseball Trojans hosted the Victoria East Titans on Thursday night, and the visitors had the better pitching and hitting to forge a 10-0, five-inning victory.

The first inning went by scoreless, but the Titans got their bats going in the second. Two runs scored in the second, and the visitors followed that up with three runs in both the third and fourth frames. Another two runs scampered across the plate for the Titans in the top of the fifth to make the score 10-0 heading into the home half.

The Trojans failed to score, and the Titans, who are now a perfect 5-0 in district, captured the 10-run rule win.

The Titan hurler kept the Beeville bats in check, allowing just three hits over the five innings. Brody Benavidez, Michael Rosas and Cameron Kremers all hit safely for the hosts.

The Beeville boys had a few opportunities to score as the Titan pitcher issued nine walks. The Trojans left nine runners stranded over the five innings.

Rosas pitched the first three frames for the Trojans and Benji Gomez finished the game. Each hurler gave up five runs to the Titans.

The Trojans played in Floresville on Tuesday night and will be back at home on Friday to host the Port Lavaca Sandcrabs.
