The Coastal Bend College Drama Program will present “Murder, You Must be Kidding” by Pat Cook in the Gertrude R. Jones Fine Arts Auditorium on the CBC campus April 26, 27 and 28 at 7 p.m. (produced by special arrangement with Baker Plays, New York, N.Y.).

General admission is $6 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under.

The cast in order by appearance includes Noemi Aldape, Monzelle White, Phillip Brewer, Tiele Dockens, Daphne Garcia, Victoria Ramirez, Stacy Stevenson, Christopher Cruz, Tracy Walker and Benjamin Brewer. The crew consist of Clarissa Garcia, Kathleen Chambless, Maribel Avila, Amaris Martin, Benjamin Brewer and Leah Brewer.

Director Mickey Hockstedder can barely stand the outrageous acting styles of his actresses — and that includes his wife, Clarise. Imagine his surprise when a complete stranger named Lionel appears, claiming that his lead actor, Daryl, has been murdered.

Even after the police arrive, no one believes Lionel, especially since Daryl is known for shenanigans of this sort. Snappy wisecracks turn to frightening accusations as Snooky, Barbara, Margo and Lucille continue to rehearse — and the murder-mystery they’re rehearsing starts to look amazing like real life.

Who is this stranger? What is reality? What is rehearsed? And who forgot the bean dip? This frantic whodunit will keep the audience guessing until the final curtain.
