He was born in Mikeska, Texas, on December 12, 1918, to Thomas and Jane Elizabeth (Holbrook) Strauch. He served in the United States Army. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a rancher and member of Buyers Group Amigos at Bee County Junior Livestock and Homemakers Show.
He is survived by his sister, Catherine E. Donahue of Huntington Beach, California, and many nieces and nephews, including Mary Jane Strauch, Wade Strauch, Tommy Strauch, Charlie Strauch, Cathy Strauch Hardy, John Michael Donahue, Nelle Donahue, Thomas Patrick Donahue and Kevin Donahue.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel. A rosary was recited that evening at 7 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Richard Gonzales officiating. Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery.
