Mrs. Salinas was born on Aug. 15, 1927, in Pettus to Melquides and Adelita Yanez Garcia. She married Eduardo “Eddie” Salinas in 1950. She had resided in San Antonio for the past eight years.
Survivors include a daughter, Sylvia Salinas (Terry) Schaumberg of San Antonio; a sister, Adelita G. Zuniga of San Antonio; two grandchildren, Jaren and Sierra Schaumberg of San Antonio; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three sisters, Juanita Salinas, Eulogia Martinez and Isidra Guerra; and two brothers, Domingo Garcia and Eugenio Garcia.
Visitation was held Monday, April 30, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Oak Park Memorial Chapel. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 o’clock.
The funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Skidmore with Father Sebastian V. Thomas officiating. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore.
Pallbearers were Pete Martinez, Saragosa Martinez, Armando Martinez, Rudy Salinas, Eddie Salinas and Jesse Molina.
Honorary pallbearers were Terry and Jaren Schaumberg.
