Mr. Anastacio Cruz Garza, Jr. Sept. 14, 1949-May 5, 2012. At the age of 62 years left this earth and walked into the arms of his parents, the late Isabel and Anastacio Garza, Sr.

He proudly fought for his country in the Vietnam War. He worked many jobs in his lifetime, but the majority of his life was spent in the oilfields of Texas. He broke out the men in his family, teaching them safety was the most important part of the job. He loved sharing rig stories with anyone who had the time to listen. He enjoyed fishing and western movies were his favorite. He loved making people laugh at his silly jokes, even though we’d all heard them a million times. Lately, his favorite activity was sitting under his pecan tree with his grandson enjoying the breeze.

He leaves behind his wife of 37 years, Jacquelynn Hall Garza; daughters, Crystal Joyce Brecka and husband George Brecka, Mary Virginia and husband Frank Brecka; son, Joshua Michael Garza; three grandsons, Andrew David Hatcher, Joey Michael Hatcher both of Victoria, Texas, and Joshua Blaine Garza, all of Cuero, Texas; one sister, Carmen Bolanos (Tomas); one brother, Billy Ray Garza (Sylvia), both of Beeville, Texas. As well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all those left behind to cherish his memory. Do not be afraid, Daddy, for we will see each other again in Paradise.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the nurses and caregivers at Port Lavaca Nursing and Rehab, especially Nurse Michelle, as well as the nurses of the Hospice of South Texas for their compassionate care of our father.
