Mr. Garza was born Nov. 8, 1950, in Spur to Maximiliano Y. and Maria Ramirez Garza. He was a lifelong resident of Beeville and had worked as a truck driver for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his father; four uncles, Alfonso C. Ramirez, Tomacio (Ray) Ramirez, Calistro Ramirez and Cruz Ramirez; two aunts, Josefina R. Borjas and Lucia R. Vidurra; two brothers-in-law, Fernando C. Contreras and Ernesto Loya; and one niece, Sabrina M. Law.
Survivors include his mother, Maria R. Garza of Beeville; a daughter, Leticia A. DeLeon of Houston; a granddaughter, Kayleigh Alina DeLeon; five sisters, Elida G. (Gilbert) Trujillo, Connie G. Loya, Esperanza G. (Jerry) English, Mary G. (Frank) Altamirano and Trini G. (Juan) Vital, all of Beeville; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation was held Wednesday, May 9, at Oak Park Memorial Chapel from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 o’clock.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday, May 10, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Richard Gonzales officiating. Interment followed at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.
Pallbearers were Joe Anthony Garza, Frank Altamirano III, Ernesto Camacho, Jr., Orlando F. Hernandez, Vicente DeLeon III, Johnny Loya and Juan Vital.
