Beeville Police Department Gang Intelligence Officer Tony Gutierrez, left, and Police Chief Joe Treviño use white spray paint to hide street gang symbols on a wall in the 1400 block of North St. Mary's Street last week. Treviño said the key to stopping the vandals is to remove their graffiti or paint over it immediately. The chief said if the owner of property that has been "tagged" by a gang needs assistance in painting over the damage will call the BPD at 358-8100, somebody from the department can take care of the job.
