Selective Beeville ISD students will be released Friday for an early summer vacation.

Dr. Sue Thomas, superintendent, said that this is part of the Optional Flexible School Year Program which is designed to improve student performance and attendance.

In order to be released early, students must:

• Pass all core courses (math, science, reading/ELA and social studies) with a cumulative yearly grade of 70 or better in each subject.

• Pass appropriate tests in appropriate grade level (STAAR, EOC, TAKS, Common Assessments).

• A student may not be given credit for a class unless the student is in attendance for at least 90 percent of the days the class is offered.

• Last day for students who qualify will be Friday, May 18.

Those students who do not qualify for early release will continue attending classes through May 31.
