REFUGIO – Boys and Girls 5-8 years old are being encouraged to enter the Tiny Tots Pageant that has been added to the annual Juneteenth Celebration sponsored by the Refugio County Community Cemetery Assoc. of Refugio. The pageant will be conducted Friday, June 15 at 7 p.m. in the Expo Center at the fairgrounds.

The children will be judged on appearance, beauty, personality, individuality, confidence and projection on stage.

“The pageant is not restricted to any particular race,” said Patty Lewis, event organizer. “No experience is necessary, only smiles and enthusiasm,” Lewis said. “We do not have a long list of strict rules and regulations. We want the kids to be kids. We know they are still young, so we encourage them to just be themselves.”

The total entry fee is $30. The participants will be judged in dress-up wear, swimwear, talent, interview and most photogenic.

Each contestant will submit a photo up to size 5x7 which will be judged for the photogenic competition. The photo must be sent along with the entry form and fee.
