Martha Louise Banta, 75, of Orangedale community near Beeville, died on Friday, Jan. 30, 2009.

She was born on July 20, 1933, in Three Rivers to John Wesley Sanders and Virgie May Goodman. She married Arnold Ladell Banta in Beeville on May 15, 1951. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband on July 16, 2008.

Survivors include one daughter, Nancy (John) Reddick of Aransas Pass; three sons, Michael Banta of Beeville, Roy W. (Sindy) Banta of Orangedale and Louis Banta of Johnson City; two sisters, Lois (Arlyn) Houdman of Beeville and Tina (Richard) Cunningham of Seguin; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Galloway & Sons chapel. Funeral services were held there at 10 a.m. Monday with Walter L. Parr officiating, followed by entombment at Beeville Memorial Park.

Pallbearers were George Coley, Jessie Maldonado, Danny Perkins, James Howell, James O’Brien, Glen Slayton and Louis Dickinson as alternate.
