The Mustangs jumped out to an early lead. The halftime score was 43-24 in favor of the Mustangs.
Leading the Longhorns in scoring in the first half was Marcus Miller with eight points, Colton Tindol, seven; Travis Walker, six. Shannon Taylor and Kenneth Blevins each had five first half rebounds.
In the second half, the Longhorns came out and played excellent basketball. The Longhorns scored a season high 24 points in the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, the Horns cut the Mustang lead to 74-62 with six minutes to go in the game. However, this would be as close as they would get to the Mustangs. The Longhorns fell 91-66 to the Mustangs.
The team never gave up and played their hearts out all the way to the finish. The Horns will host Cotulla at home on Friday, Feb. 6.
