Bert McGrew, 91, of Beeville, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012, in Fort Worth.

Mr. McGrew was born May 6, 1921, in Taft to Witt McGrew and Thelma Chandler of Stockdale. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran and retired as a service manager from Dave Moore Ford in 1991.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph McGrew; wife, Leta McGrew; wife, Barbara McGrew; and a son, Elbert L. McGrew Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Velma McGrew of Beeville; two children, Nancy (Bill) Galloway of Willow Park and Roy (Joy) McGrew of Corpus Christi; a daughter-in-law, Elisa Conti of Guernville, Calif.; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and four step-daughters and their families.

Visitation was held Friday, June 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Finch Funeral Chapel in Stockdale.

The funeral service was conducted there Saturday, June 9, at 2 p.m. with Kenneth Klapp officiating. Interment followed at the Stockdale Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Roy McGrew, Morgan McGrew, Bill Galloway, Ryan Dry, Shawn McGrew and Paul Lareau.
