Rosetta members hear women’s history program

The regular meeting of the Rosetta Club was called to order on Jan. 8 by President Jackie Hughes at the Beeville Country Club. Other officers present were first vice president Connie Hatfield, second vice president Jodi Huegler, third vice president Beau O’Brien, recording secretary Patty Alexander and corresponding secretary Margie Awalt.

President Hughes thanked the hostesses; Eugenie Juve gave the invocation; and guests Elaine Spears and Patta Reid of Grand Junction, Colo., were welcomed.

Laura Fischer introduced the speaker, Vikki Schorlemmer, who shared a program about the history of the women who made the Federation of Women’s Clubs such an asset to their communities.

Letitia Muñoz spoke about the library fundraiser, which is scheduled for April 4. The event will feature Diana Barrios, a well-known chef and TV personality. She will demonstrate various cooking techniques followed by a luncheon at the Beeville Country Club.

The Rialto is having a fundraiser, and raffle tickets are available from Rialto members; Ladies Night Out is scheduled for Feb. 24; and the winner of the Ixtapan Spa & Golf Resort raffle was Bill Moser.
