The Skidmore-Tynan varsity boys had a night to remember against the Bloomington Bobcats on Tuesday night in Skidmore. The local boys limited the visitors to just two first half points and blew away the Bloomington boys 63-27.

“The guys played a really good defensive game particularly in the first half. Things just seemed to come together last night including our team confidence,” said Bobcat head coach Darrell Hesseltine.

“We did a much better job of breaking their press. We still had too many turnovers and we need to continue to work on that in this last week of the season.”

The Bobcats had things under control with a halftime lead of 28-2 and they coasted through the second half to a 63-27 final.

S-T post Conner McCarn came through with a big game.

“Connor had another great game with 25 points, 15 rebounds and 10 blocked shots. He is really stepping up into a leadership position with Zach Hall to help keep our team moving in the right direction,” Hesseltine said.

Gavin Vandever followed with 11 points in the win. Cody Chambers hit for eight markers. Rene Jimenez added seven tallies. Hall contributed six points. Derek Boggess and Jonathan Murphey both hit for three tallies.

The win improves the S-T overall record to 7-23 and gives the Bobcats a 1-7 district record.

The Bobcats played at Refugio last night (Friday) and will close out their season on Tuesday night at home against the Odem Owls.
