The victory improves the seventh-grade A team record to 6-4 on the season.
“The Trojans came out against Flour Bluff firing on all cylinders, going up by ten, 11-1 in the first quarter and never looking back,” said MMS coach Bryan Grams.
“The boys were in charge the whole game, getting quality play from the bench from Daniel Amador and Cody Vasquez.”
Flour Bluff made a second half run at the MMS boys but the young Trojans countered every move to capture the seven-point victory.
Tristan Pelitire led the balanced scoring attack with 10 points. Ryan Casarez hit for six markers. Amador had five on the night while Anthony Ruiz and Vasquez contributed four points each in the win. Bobby Quiroga, Tyler Stweart both added two points to the mix and Jeremy Ramirez made good on one free throw. Jacob Flores and Scott Olivo contributed on defense with two steals apiece for the Trojans.
