Naomi E. “Trixie” Cox, 85, of Tuleta, died on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009.

She was born on Nov. 7, 1923, in Austwell to Loleat Ward Ricks and William H. Ricks. She married Chester B. Cox on Nov. 24, 1945. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Tuleta and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one son, A.W. Cox; one sister, Margarite Anderson; and five brothers, Leon, J.B., Lamar, Lawrence and Sterling Ricks.

She is survived by one daughter, Andrea “Molly” (David) Murray of Fulton; one son, Roy W. Cox of Pettus; two brothers, Harrel Ricks of Port Aransas and Alton Ricks of San Antonio; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Eckols Funeral Home chapel in Kenedy. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Cemetery in Beeville with Roy W. Cox officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or First Baptist Church in Tuleta.

Arrangements were entrusted to Eckols Funeral Home in Kenedy.
