BEEVILLE — The Rainbow Housing Assistance Corporation will be collecting school supplies and new and gently used backpacks with working zippers now through Aug. 17.

The average back-to-school supplies can total upwards of $400, and many families can’t afford the necessary supplies to properly educate their children.

The Rainbow Room is looking to reach their goal of 2,500 backpacks this year and is asking the community to help.

You can drop off the supplies in the leasing office of The Reserve at Jones Road or, if you’re a local business, you can call and have the items picked up.

Tax-deductible donations of $35 can be made at the Rainbow Room’s website, www.rainbowhousing.org, or mailed directly to 3120 W. Carefree Highway, Suite 1-246, Phoenix AZ 85086.
