I would like to applaud the Bee County Sheriff’s Department, the City of Beeville and the Bee Development Authority for their rapid response in providing an “economic wish list.”
I’m surprised to learn that other local agencies failed to provide wish lists in a time of national economic turmoil. Beeville needs growth to replenish jobs that will be lost, as is the case across the nation. Great ideas, like a new jail, will help our community prosper and create new jobs.
Right now is the time all agencies should be coming up with ideas that may be funded by the government. We must ask ourselves if there will ever be another stimulus package of this proportion. All agencies need to come up with ideas and act on them because this ship is fixing to sail.
Beeville, we need to ask for more, not just organize meetings.
