The Joe Barnhart Bee County Library was begun in 2001 with a $4 million grant from the Joe Barnhart Foundation and an upgrade from the building that now houses the Bee County Extension Office to the two-story Praeger Building, which was built in 1906. A glass addition, including a glass elevator, was included in the renovations.
