According to Deputy Lt. Ronnie Jones, the body was found last Thursday afternoon at a location off Ridgeway Lane in south central Bee County.
Investigators reported that there were no signs of trauma, but the dead man was sent to the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Sheriff Carlos Carrizales Jr. reported that the name of the victim is not being released until next of kin can be notified.
Investigators are working with the Guatemalan Consulate to contact the victim’s family.
Carrizales encourages all county residents to report any suspicious activity and human trafficking so that tragedies of that type can be prevented.
