On behalf of the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center (STBTC), David Wright and family, we would like to thank the Tivoli community for donating blood so selflessly.

A total of 36 community members rolled up their sleeves for the replacement blood drive at Tivoli High School on Feb. 25, benefiting cancer patient David Wright.

In addition to blood donations, community members provided homemade goodies for donors to show appreciation for their altruistic efforts.

“Thank you to the Tivoli community for your support and prayers. They came out in big numbers and we greatly appreciate it,” said Wright’s daughter, Kendra Wright.

Donors who could not attend this drive can stop by the local STBTC site at 1109 Sam Houston Dr., Victoria, TX, or schedule an appointment to donate by calling 361-576-3651.

Every day, 600 units of blood are needed to supply 100 hospitals in south Texas with blood. Your single donation can save as many as three lives.

Donate blood every eight weeks to help keep the blood supply adequate and give someone the gift of life.
