GOLIAD – The Goliad Tigers remained alive for a District 15-2A, Division I playoff berth Friday night with a 47-0 rout of the San Antonio Brooks Bengals at Tiger Field.

The win improved the Tigers to 5-3 on the season and 2-2 in district play. Brooks fell to 0-7 and 0-3.

The Tigers will host the George West Longhorns (5-2, 3-0) on Friday night. George West and Luling (4-3, 3-0) share first place in the district. Marion (4-4, 3-1) is in third.

George West defeated San Antonio Cole (1-7, 1-3) 49-7 Friday. Marion blanked Jourdanton (2-5, 0-3) 33-0. Luling was idle.

Isaiah Fair had touchdown runs of 23 and 80 yards and also caught an 11-yard scoring pass from Dalton Sturm.

The Tigers went up 40-0 at halftime before inserting substitutes in the second half.

Jeremy Pena had a 9-yard touchdown run, Justin Thomas returned a punt 70 yards for a score, Jordan Garcia ran 18 yards for a touchdown and Noel Garza scored from 3 yards out with 1:05 left in the game.

Fair rushed for 95 yards in the game. Ty Ross added 56 yards rushing as the Tigers gained 337 yards on the ground. Brooks was held to only 94 total yards.
